- I have had chronic muscular skeletal problems since I had an accident in 1994 and broke my tailbone. This coincided with my completion of Graduate School as a Mental Health Counselor with Holistic Specialization. I am licensed and I maintain a private practice in Counseling. I have learned that there are no quick fixes and no miracle cures for Pain. I have gone through the Spauding Rehabilitation Hospital Pain Management Program. I have taught a course in an Adult BA program for Human Services callled, "The Psychology of Illness and Wellness". I am currently not working outside of my private practice. I have a partner of 25 years and a son age 23 and a daughter age 21. I have two Bichon Frise dogs and an Umbrella Cockatoo. If I did not believe in the power of a personal Spirituality I would have given up long ago. The last year has been particularly difficult for me pain wise and I have had to limit my activity more than previously. I have lost most of my friends because of my illness taking away my energy and severely decreasing my availability to be engaged in social activities. This is probably the most difficult aspect of the illness Fibromyalgia for me.
